Itinerary of the tour to Luxor Two days private
Day 1 in Luxor:
You will be picked up from your hotel early in the morning between 5 and 6 a.m. You will travel through the desert in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle on the newly developed road. After about two hours, you will take a short break at a rest stop to use the restroom or stretch your legs. The journey continues to Qena, where you will travel through the verdant and densely populated Nile Valley and gain a glimpse into everyday Egyptian life. You will reach Luxor around 10 a.m. and first visit the imposing Karnak Temple complex with its famous Hall of Columns and the Sacred Lake. You will then travel by bus to the centrally located Luxor Temple, which houses the famous Mosque of Abu el-Hagag. Afterward, you will experience Luxor from the water by cruising on the Nile in a motorboat. You will enjoy lunch at an Egyptian restaurant to sample typical local dishes. The bus then takes you back to the hotel, where you’ll have time for refreshments and perhaps a short nap to recover for the evening. You can optionally experience the sound and light show at Karnak Temple (bookable on-site, approx. 1 hour). The evening is then at your leisure.
Day 2 in Luxor:
After breakfast at the hotel, you’ll travel to West Thebes to explore the famous Valley of the Kings, home to the tombs of the New Kingdom pharaohs, including the tomb of the golden pharaoh Tutankhamun. You’ll then visit the Terrace Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, one of the greatest female architects in history. Afterward, you’ll admire the colossal statues of Amenhotep III, known as the Colossi of Memnon, before enjoying a traditional lunch in West Thebes for the return journey to Hurghada. On the return journey, relax on the bus and enjoy the afternoon along the Nile. You’ll return to your hotel around 6 p.m. and earn your dinner.
